Biography
Ashmita Acharya is Head of International Wealth and Premier Banking at HSBC Singapore, overseeing its retail banking, private banking and asset management businesses in Singapore.
With more than 25 years of financial services experience across Asia and the US, Ashmita has held senior leadership roles spanning wealth management, retail banking, customer strategy and digital transformation. Since joining HSBC in 2023, she has led the transformation of its Singapore retail franchise towards a wealth-led model, strengthening its wealth proposition, digital capabilities and customer experience, and helping to double wealth sales over two years.
Ashmita is also an active contributor to Singapore’s financial services industry. She represents HSBC on key Association of Banks in Singapore committees and is a member of the Institute of Banking and Finance Consumer Banking Working Group, contributing to industry efforts spanning conduct, digitalisation, workforce transformation and future skills. She also co-chaired the MAS Payments Council’s Retail Cheque Workstream, assessing options to maintain cheque access for vulnerable customer segments, and has supported Singapore’s fintech ecosystem through several years of mentoring and judging at the Singapore FinTech Festival.
