Lee Lung Nien
Citi Country Officer and Banking Head, Singapore
Biography
Lung was appointed Citi Country Officer (CCO) in October 2025.
Lung oversees all Citi businesses and operations in Singapore, driving franchise performance, managing key regulatory relationships, and ensuring a robust risk and control environment. He is responsible for maximizing Citi’s business with all clients present in Singapore across all products and sub-products both locally and abroad to further Citi’s vision of becoming the preeminent banking partner for institutions with cross-border needs.
Lung most recently served as the Chairman of Citi Private Bank for South Asia and was appointed to the role in September 2020. In addition to his Chairman role, Lung was also named the Head of South Asia and Global Market Manager for Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand in August 2023. In November 2023, Lung took on the role of Asia South Cluster Head of the Private Bank.
A 36-year Citi veteran, Lung has held numerous other senior leadership roles, including CEO for Citi Malaysia, COO for Citi Singapore, APAC Anti-Money Laundering Business Head, APAC Head of Corporate Sales and Structuring for Markets and Markets Head for Malaysia. With extensive international experience across London, New York, Malaysia and Singapore, Lung brings deep local connectivity in Singapore to help drive Citi’s client franchise to new heights.
Lung is a qualified Fellow Chartered Banker. He is an active member of the Financial Industry; he co-chairs the Private Banking Industry Group AML/KYC account opening working group. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Magna Cum Laude from Chaminade University in the U.S.
