From 1 April 2023, IBF will cease the conduct of the CBCE.
CBCE was introduced in September 2010 to broaden the capabilities and assess the knowledge competencies of corporate bankers with less than 3 years of relevant banking experience in their understanding of products and rules and regulations for corporate banking.
Given that there are now many trainings available to prepare new entrants to the corporate banking industry, IBF in consultation with our industry partners, agree that CBCE can be discontinued.
IBF will continue to work with the industry to introduce relevant training programs to ensure that new entrants to the corporate banking industry continue to be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge for the role. One such program "Executive Certificate in Corporate Relationship Management" will be offered by the SMU Academy, the professional training arm of Singapore Management University. This is a comprehensive training programme designed to equip participants with the relevant skillsets and knowledge to perform the role of a Corporate Banking Relationship Manager, leading to the attainment of IBF Certification. Interested parties can register their interest with SMU Academy at
enquiries.academy@smu.edu.sg. Individuals can also access the
IBF Course Directory to find out more about the other Corporate Banking related programs offered by training providers such as Moody's Analytics Singapore Pte Ltd, Fitch Learning Singapore Pte Ltd, PI ETA Consulting Company Pte Ltd.
IBF would like to encourage all individuals working in the corporate banking industry to continue their learning journey by attending the IBF accredited programs and attaining the IBF Certification for Corporate Banking.
