IBF Financial Industry Fiesta 2025
Overview
 | The Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF), with the support of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), 12 financial institution (FI) partners, 5 polytechnics, SCI and Young NTUC, organised a half day Financial Industry Fiesta on 9 Jul 2025, 9.30am to 1.30pm, at the Ngee Ann Poly Convention Centre. Attended by over 700 students, the event was designed to help provide students with a better understanding of the multiple pathways available in the financial industry for polytechnic talent — including internships, traineeships, and work-and-study opportunities. Dialogue with Mr Alvin Tan,Minister of State for Trade and Industry and National Development, and Board Member of MAS
Mr Alvin Tan, Minister of State (National Development and Trade and Industry) and Board Member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) graced the event as the Guest of Honour and shared his insights in a dialogue session.
The dialogue session between MOS Tan, polytechnic students and alumni exchanged personal reflections and shared the multiple pathways for polytechnic talent to access meaningful training opportunities in the financial sector. | ||

Fireside Chat: Decoding Career Pathways in the Financial Services Sector
Leaders from key FIs shared insights on how young talent optimise their exposure to the financial services industry through internships and , traineeships to gain good hands-on experience to prepare them for their careers. They also opened up about their own career journeys – the wins, the pivots, and what they wish they knew when starting out.

Financial Sector Marketplace
The financial institutions supporting this outreach initiative also hosted booths to share more about the traineeship opportunities with their organisations and answer questions from students on internships, traineeships, and work-and-study opportunities. IBF and youth mentors from Young NTUC were also present to provide career tips and advice to students as they explore next steps after completing their studies. | ||
